Connecting accounts
Arc uses Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) to connect your financial accounts. When you choose Link accounts, you will be asked to sign in to your institution through Plaid’s secure flow.
By connecting an account, you authorize Plaid and Arc to access account information you select for the purposes described below.
Information accessed
Depending on your institution, Plaid may provide:
- Account name, type, and last-four digits (mask).
- Current and historical balances for net worth tracking.
- Transaction descriptions, amounts, and dates for spending analysis.
- Institution name and connection status.
What Arc does not store
Your online banking username and password are entered directly with Plaid. Arc does not receive or store your bank login credentials.
Plaid access tokens are kept on Arc’s server and are never exposed to the browser or other household members as secrets.
How Arc uses Plaid data
We use linked data to populate your net worth chart, spending views, and plan comparisons. We do not sell Plaid data to third parties.
Removing access
Disconnect accounts from Arc in account settings or delete linked accounts from Net Worth. When the last account on a bank login is removed, Arc revokes the Plaid connection.
You can also manage connections through your institution or Plaid’s consumer portal where available.
Plaid’s policies
